The most famous of Tennessee whiskeys is Jack Daniels. It tastes like regret and smells like Lemmy after a Motorhead show.

My favourite of Kentucky bourbons is Blanton’s Original by Buffalo Trace/Sazerac. It’s sweet, a little oaky, with some vanilla, caramel, and spice tones. It tastes like god is real and wants us to know that we are loved and cherished.

Tennessee likes to make something called “white whiskey” or a derivative of “moonshine”. These are not barrel-aged and clear whiskeys are an abomination against all that is good and holy.

My other Kentucky favourites:

Maker’s 46 by Maker’s Mark (this was the bourbon that sold me on the loveliness of bourbon)

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon by Brown-Forman

Knob Creek Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Beam Global Spirits

Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Buffalo Trace/Sazerac

Eagle Rare 10 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon by Buffalo Trace/Sazerac

Four Roses Bourbon by Four Roses Distillery

I’m always looking for good bourbon recommendations.
