“April always reminds me that it’s time to blow the dust off and get everything deep cleaned after a winter’s worth of stuffiness. Our apartment is also incredibly dusty all on its own. Anything that sits still for more than 12 hours will be covered in a fine layer of debris. I think it’s the ancient carpet and the fact that none of the windows are completely closed. The road dust, truck exhaust, and industrial pollutants that make up the ever-changing air quality here means that all my window ledges are coated in a black-ish haze no matter the season.”
